Jee Advanced : Exam Pattern

JEE Advanced exam is known for its excellent thought provoking questions.

The exam is difficult to crack not only due to its difficulty in question papers but also for unknown exam pattern. The questions which are asked are all new and generally not repeated (which makes lesser choice for students apart from focusing on fundamentals). JEE Advanced exam pattern changes almost every year so it is mere speculations that this year pattern will be so. Nevertheless the students are advised to remain focused on concepts and practice question papers of similar difficulty level with pattern of previous years paper. For some understanding , the pattern of last a few year is given below along with major key facts for JEE Advanced 2018.

  • JEE Advanced 2018 will be conducted for 2 papers – Paper I and Paper II. Candidates must appear in both the papers as it’s mandatory.
  • Both Paper I and Paper II will have questions from 3 sections – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • The entrance test will be conducted in computer-based test mode.
  • Each of the two papers will be held for a duration of 3 hours.
  • The marking scheme may have the concept of full marks, partial marks, zero marks and negative marks.
  • The questions will be multiple choice or objective type and numerical in nature.
